About 8Baller

A free 8-ball pool game that runs in your browser, built to be fair, quick to start and pleasant to come back to.

What 8Baller is

8Baller is an online game of 8-ball pool. You open the page, pick a mode and play. There is nothing to download or install, and you do not need an account to start. The table, the balls and the cue are drawn in your browser, and the balls move according to a physics simulation: they spin, slide, bounce off cushions and knock into each other much as real balls do.

You can play three ways. Play against the computer at one of four levels, from a relaxed Easy opponent to a near-flawless Expert. Use the practice table to set up shots, run drills and replay your best attempts. Or open the multiplayer lobby, sign in with a free account and play live against another person.

Who it is for

  • Beginners who want to learn the game without feeling rushed. The aim guide shows where the cue ball will go, and the how to play guide and rules explain the rest.
  • Casual players who want a quick frame on a phone, tablet or computer during a break.
  • Improving players who want to practise cut shots, banks and position play, then test themselves against stronger computer levels or other people.
  • Competitive players who want a rating that means something. Multiplayer results feed a public leaderboard.

Free to play, with no gambling

8Baller is free. The site is supported by advertising, and advertising only loads if you agree to it in our cookie banner (see the cookie policy). There are no in-game purchases that affect play.

8Baller is a game of skill played for fun. There is no real-money play, no wagering, no betting and no prizes of cash value anywhere on the site.

Fair play

A pool game is only worth playing if you trust the result. For that reason, multiplayer is server-authoritative: when you take a shot online, your browser sends only your aim, power and spin. The server runs the physics, applies the rules and tells both players what happened. Your device cannot decide the outcome of a shot, so a modified browser or a script cannot move balls that should not move.

On top of that we run anti-cheat checks on multiplayer shots. They look for shot patterns that human players do not produce and flag them for review by a person. Where the evidence is clear we remove results and restrict accounts. The behaviour we expect from everyone is set out in the community rules, and every player profile and match has a way to report a player.

Privacy by default

Guest play stores your settings and statistics only in your own browser. We do not sell personal data. Our privacy policy explains exactly what we collect when you create an account, and you can change your advertising choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
